So, I realize I’m probably THE.MOST.ANNOYING. person ever when it comes to making decisions…. I’m constantly thinking I’m going to make the wrong decision… so I overwhelm myself with choices then refuse to make one at all.
BUT FEAR NOT. I have started to make decisions, and I think it’s coming together quite well.
1. Backsplash. I saw this Aura Silver Cloud Tile a few weeks ago, and I snapped a picture because I liked it a little… and than I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I went to DalTile and picked up a sample, and I’ve been carrying it around ever since. This clearly means that it’s the right backsplash for me. I like the diamonds because they are different, and it has the right amount of shine to it.
2. Countertops. We decided to go with quartz because we can’t handle the lack of uniformity with granite. And because I fell in love with a quartz countertop while we were out one day… we brought home a sample from our day at Arizona Tile (seriously – if they don’t have your marble, granite, quartz – it doesn’t exist), and I have also carried that around for awhile. The speckles in it are picked up by the light and the paint.
3. Paint. Okay, so I might have lied. I don’t have this fully picked out yet. But, I have it narrowed down to two… It’s either going to be Benjamin Moore Constellation or Glass Slipper. Truthfully, they look pretty similar, and they both bring out the blue in the countertops… it’s just whether or not we want to have cooler undertones or warmer undertones. This will also be our living room color because we are opening up the kitchen and breakfast nook into the living room… which ultimately means that we have to figure out how the paint looks in all different types of light because those rooms have vastly different light sources. Fear not, there are four different trial areas for me to consider… so I still have no idea what it’s going to look like. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the most accurate read on paint colors under different lighting environments?!
Ou I love that backsplash! A friend of mine was renovating her kitchen last year and all the decisions seemed pretty overwhelming! It seems like you are making good progress though 🙂
I’m trying… but it’s SO HARD! I’m absolutely the worst at this. I just want to bury my head… who knew there were SO MANY OPTIONS!?
There is seriously NO WAY I could ever build or remodel a home because I could never make all the decisions that go along with it! Looks like you’re well on your decision-making way! Way to go, girl!
LOVE that backspash..so pretty! Cant wait to see it all come together!
