Holiday Dress Wish List

Welcome to another edition of I don’t want to work, I don’t want to edit, I don’t want to clean… how about I just make a holiday dress wish list instead! I haven’t seen too many great Black Friday deals yet, but maybe I’ll be able to pick something up.  I should note that I have zero holiday parties that require any one of these dresses, but I’d be more than happy to indulge a date night if it meant that one of these dresses could come home.  (Oh… my birthday is coming up… hmm…)

A Few Thoughts on These Dresses:

(1)  Kate Middleton wore this dress in red and black. I loved both versions of it on her. I think I recently saw this dress on the clearance rack at Last Call.  I was looking for something else, but I wish I had tried it on.  It looks a little short waisted for me, but I love the lines and the color.

(2)  I’m obsessed with the shape and color of this deep blue dress.  I need it to go on (further) sale.  If I could put one dress in my closet, this would be it.

(3)  I saw this pink and red dress on a mannequin last time we were in Florence.  It’s stunning in person and does not photograph well.  Trust me on that one.

(4)  This is the only dress that I’ve seen Meghan Markle wear that I remotely like.  It didn’t look like it fit correctly, but I still like it.  It looked short waisted on her, and I had the same issue. I loved the material of this dress, and I wish I had kept it. I also love the colors and the lines of it though.

(5)  I bought this and ended up sending it back.  The color works for me, but it was one size too big. My mom thought that it just hung on me rather than fit. Alterations couldn’t save it.  Back it went.)

(6)  I actually bought the sleeveless dress that goes with this coat dress on super sale this summer. I wouldn’t mine having the coat to go over it for winter.  The fabric has the perfect amount of holiday shimmer.

Okay, I get it.  This post is entirely superficial and silly.  But, it provided a nice respite from everything else I need to do.  As an added benefit, my ShopStyle alerts are ready to go for upcoming holiday sales.

  1. The first dress is one Duchess Catherine has in both red and black. I love that you have dresses worn by both her and Meghan on your list. I agree that the blue dress of Meghan’s is a favorite of mine too – I think it looked a bit short waist-ed on her because of her bump and the angle of every shot of her in it I’ve seen.

These are six beautiful dresses and I’ sure you’d look stunning in any of them!

  2. This makes me wish I had fancy events to go to this holiday season!! I think you should have a special date night for your birthday and wear one of these!
