Small towns are steeped with traditions that are fun to be a part of experiencing. It’s why you shouldn’t stay in the cities and it’s why you shouldn’t just take day trips. 💙 Real life happens on the margins of the day and on the weekends, the same way it does when you’re home.

@castigliondelbosco appreciation post: a story of @castigliondelbosco appreciation post: a story of the last 5 years. 🍷🍷 We started drinking wine in 2020 to support small Italian winemakers we met in 2018 and 2019. In early 2021, we went to @rosewoodcastigliondelbosco for a night. We did a wine tasting. A few months later, we returned for a bit longer stay and did a vertical tasting. We had the 2015 and Tom was hooked. We went back again and again, trying different vintages, each better than the next. On our 10th anniversary (2023), we joined their wine club. We experienced the 2019 vintage a few months later… and I kept booking the resort, each time a little longer than the first. (More time, more opportunities to learn more, more trying to learn how to slow down!) We connected with Gianmario in Florence who provided amazing experiences for my mom & sister… and made sure we never arrived with empty hands for our Florentine friends. (At one point, Tom bought out the CdB in Torino to bring home the 2016s…) Last October, we decided to go to Montalcino for a long weekend. It happened to coincide with the #castigliondelbosco members event. We attended a wine master class and met so many people who loved the wine as much as we do. In early 2025, we were so excited to share our #CampodelDrago finds with the wine team. And, this past March, we were so thrilled to welcome @carolina_bracalente, Fillipo, and Maya to Dallas… and the rest, as they say, is history.

I say all this to say two things:
1. A small amount of kindness can change the trajectory of what you think your interests are… 🇮🇹Embrace everything that anyone wants to share with you. 💙
2. Connecting with people will provide infinite opportunities to make the world feel a little bit smaller. Do this whenever you can, however you can. 💙💙
London appreciation post, even if it is from March London appreciation post, even if it is from March 2023. 🇬🇧🇬🇧 (Pro tip: if you book a guide for #ChangingoftheGuard, you can find much better vantage points than waiting in front of Buckingham Palace.)

And, if you go at different times of the year, you can see different guard uniforms. This is from March 2023! 🇬🇧🇬🇧

I was going through my external hard drive this we I was going through my external hard drive this weekend looking for something to work on… and I decided #ljubljana would be a fun project. 🇸🇮

The architecture of Ljubljana is a confluence of time, culture, and history. The university is adjacent to the old town, which gives the city an energy and sense of place!

✨✨ We made it though. #TGIF

📌 @borgopignano - one of my favorite places for sunsets, slowing down, being outside, and getting away from it all. A true #tuscanhaven, if you will. We’re definitely overdue for a repeat trip here. ☺️🤭
